Do not spend too much: how deceptive customers are deceived in car dealerships

Buying a new car is a rather complicated and responsible business. Often, in their desire to make a bargain, customers become victims of cheating unscrupulous dealers. Preserving the nerves and, more importantly, the means will help knowledge of the tricks and ways in which car dealers profit from their customers. About such methods – further in the review.

1. Price mismatch
One of the most common ways to cheat is to change pricing. A customer interested in the “advertising” price comes to the dealer. There he is told that there is no corresponding model in the motor show and they offer to make an order, making an advance for this. The price of the buyer is completely satisfied, and he orders the car. And when a car comes to a car dealership, then the buyer is informed that due to the change in the exchange rate of currencies, the cost of the car has increased. And since the contract has already been concluded, he has no choice but to buy a car at a price that is favorable to the car dealership.

2. Unjustified discounts
Often dealers offer customers to buy a car at a very big discount. Such offers should beware if the price of a car is very attractive, and the dealer does not explain the reason for such a benefit. Perhaps the point here is that the machine has a defect, received during transport or test drive. Therefore, buying a car at a big discount is only if the dealer notified the buyer of the reason for such a cost, and this reason suits the buyer.

3. Gift card roadside assistance
Many modern automakers give their customers a free road support card. It includes the supply of fuel, free evacuation from the site of damage and much more. The dealer, taking advantage of the buyer’s ignorance of this service, presents it as a gift. Pretty harmless fraud. It is much worse when additional payments are required for this option. In this case, this is a really serious deception.

4. THEN a gift
That the client has got the car in their motor show, managers apply various kinds of tricks. One of these – “zero” THAT as a gift. In fact, this procedure is far from mandatory for modern machines. And at best, it will consist of an oil change, for which the client will have to pay. It will be much cheaper to wait for the planned maintenance for 15,000 km.

5. Travel vouchers as a gift
That’s really nice – after buying a new car, fly somewhere to rest. It is doubly pleasant if the tourist voucher will get as a gift from the car dealership. However, in fact, the gift includes only hotel accommodation. On the flight, food, entertainment will have to fork out on their own. As a result, it may well come out that it will be much cheaper to purchase a travel ticket yourself, which will include everything at once.
